Careers at Itoflow

Build agents people can trust with real investment work

Itoflow builds AI agents that research investments, test ideas with real data, and help teams manage portfolios. People stay in control: they set constraints, review the evidence, and approve consequential actions.

We are a small team. Early hires work directly with the founders, own a real part of the product, and see how it performs with real users.

Why join now

The hard product questions are still open

Agent products still lack settled patterns for long-running work, evidence, permissions, and recovery. At Itoflow, those problems sit inside regulated investment workflows.

Work on product questions with no settled answer: how an agent shows progress, cites evidence, waits for approval, and recovers from failure.
Build for real investment work, where stale data, model errors, and unclear authority have consequences.
Work directly with founders and specialists across investment, product, engineering, design, and compliance.
Ship to real users, measure what works, and change course quickly.
How we work

What we care about

01

Users know what the agent is doing

At any point, a user can see what the agent has done, what evidence it used, and what decision needs their attention.

02

We show the evidence

Recommendations link back to the data, reasoning, constraints, and approvals behind them. A polished answer is not enough without evidence.

03

We design compliance in

Product, policy, and risk decisions happen together. We do not wait until launch to decide whether a workflow is safe.

04

We plan for failure

Data goes stale, markets move, models fail, and approvals get withheld. The product must stay understandable and recover cleanly.

05

You own what ships

You will make the early decisions, ship the work, learn from users, and improve it in production.

About Itoflow

Itoflow is building AI agents for investment management. Most AI products in financial services focus on speeding up and streamlining existing workflows, such as summarising documents, searching, retrieving and analysing information, generating presentations, and automating repetitive tasks.

We are building agents that work alongside portfolio managers, analysts, and researchers throughout the whole investment process. This includes researching ideas, constructing portfolios, reasoning about risk, responding to changing markets, and helping manage portfolios through time.

The ambition is to build an AI research and investment partner capable of reasoning about the same questions any traditional investment team faces:

  • What should we own?
  • How much should we own?
  • What risks are we taking?
  • Is the investment thesis still valid?
  • What are we missing?

But we look beyond the portfolio state: we ask the agent to help build and run a policy driven by the portfolio mandate and designed to withstand the risks that matter to the investor.

This requires more than an LLM interface. Itoflow brings together AI agents, investment data, quantitative tools, portfolio analytics, execution and approval workflows, and the controls required for professional investment environments.

We are starting with hedge funds and sophisticated investment teams, where the potential impact is greatest. We expect our product and the problems we work on to evolve as we learn.

The founding team comes from investment banking, quantitative trading and technology, including JPMorgan, RBC, Tower Research, Google, and Microsoft.

Why now

Financial institutions are moving from AI experiments into production. Some areas, such as anomaly detection, compliance, electronic trading, credit, and semantic search and retrieval, have already proven the value of AI. Most current production deployments focus on search, analysis, and workflow automation. The next opportunity is applying agents to investment research and portfolio management.

For these agents to be useful, they need reliable data, sound quantitative methods, rigorous evaluation, and strict controls. Building those capabilities is central to making Itoflow's product trustworthy.

Itoflow has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding and is backed by Balderton Capital. Joining now means helping define the product's quantitative foundations at an early stage.

The role

We are looking for a Quantitative Researcher & Developer to build the financial reasoning and quantitative capabilities behind Itoflow's agents.

The role sits between quantitative research and software development. You will take investment questions around valuation, portfolio construction, risk, market behaviour, and changing investment theses, then turn them into research methods, tools, and evaluations that our agents can use.

Your work will begin with research and testing, but it will not end in a notebook. You will be responsible for carrying successful methods into production and ensuring they continue to work reliably with real financial data.

You will work closely with the founders, engineers, product team, and external investment professionals. You will also influence which problems we solve, how we evaluate agent behaviour, and how Itoflow's quantitative capabilities develop over time.

What you will own

  • Develop and validate quantitative methods across investment research, portfolio construction, risk, factor exposure, attribution, and scenario analysis.
  • Turn those methods into tools that Itoflow's agents can use when researching investments and analysing portfolios.
  • Take work from research prototype to tested, reproducible, and maintainable production code.
  • Build evaluations for numerical correctness, source fidelity, consistency, and decision quality.
  • Establish rigorous treatment of financial data, including point-in-time integrity, corporate actions, currencies, missing data, and selection bias.
  • Diagnose failures in agent output and determine whether the problem comes from the data, method, tooling, or model reasoning.
  • Work with investment teams to turn real processes into reusable product capabilities instead of bespoke implementations.
  • Help shape Itoflow's quantitative architecture, research standards, and product roadmap.

What we are looking for

  • A record of conducting rigorous quantitative research and turning it into robust software.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, portfolio construction, risk, or systematic investment research.
  • Excellent Python skills and practical experience working with financial datasets.
  • Strong foundations in statistics, time-series analysis, optimisation, or related quantitative methods.
  • An understanding of common research failures, including look-ahead bias, survivorship bias, overfitting, and poor data provenance.
  • The ability to move between an investor's question, a quantitative specification, and production code.
  • Good judgement about what should become a reusable product capability and what should remain specific to an investment firm.
  • The independence, agility, and adaptability required to work effectively in an early-stage company.

Experience with LLMs or agent systems is useful but not required. Evidence of rigorous thinking, dependable engineering, and strong investment intuition matters more.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Early-stage stock options

About Itoflow

Itoflow builds AI agents for investment teams. They research ideas, construct portfolios, assess risk, and help teams respond as markets change.

To earn trust, an agent must work from real data, use quantitative tools, and leave a clear record of what it did and why.

The founding team comes from investment banking, quantitative trading, and technology, including JPMorgan, RBC, Tower Research, Google, and Microsoft.

Why now

A prompt, tool, or model change can fix one task and break another. Without representative evaluations, we cannot tell.

We run evaluations throughout development, not at the end. We need realistic tasks, scoring, human review, and regression checks before we keep a change.

Itoflow has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding and is backed by Balderton Capital. You will define how Itoflow measures and improves agents used for high-stakes investment decisions.

The role

We are looking for an AI Researcher to own Itoflow's evaluation and learning system.

You will build realistic tasks, scoring, and failure analysis across models, prompts, tools, data, and workflows. Where the evidence gives us a clear target, you will test reinforcement learning (RL) and reward-model approaches.

You will work with founders, engineers, product, and investment professionals. Your results will decide which agent changes reach users.

What you will own

  • Build the evaluation suite for reasoning, tool use, source fidelity, decision quality, and regressions.
  • Create realistic tasks, baselines, scoring, and human-review loops that make agent changes comparable.
  • Test reward-model and RL approaches when they can improve a measured behaviour, and keep the results reproducible.
  • Trace failures to the model, prompt, tool, data, or workflow, then turn the findings into product priorities.
  • Decide when the evidence is strong enough to keep, change, or reject an agent behaviour.

What we are looking for

  • Experience bringing empirical AI research, agent evaluation, or applied machine learning into a real product.
  • Strong Python skills and sound experimental design, statistics, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with RL, reward models, preference learning, or model evaluation methods.
  • Good judgement about measurement, baselines, human review, and the limits of automated scoring.
  • The ability to turn a broad question about agent quality into a testable plan and dependable implementation.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Early-stage stock options

About Itoflow

Itoflow builds cloud agents for investment teams. Our React and TypeScript product lets them research ideas, inspect evidence, set constraints, and review recommendations before consequential decisions.

An agent may call tools, run code in a sandbox, wait for approval, and resume later. The product must keep that work visible, correct, and recoverable.

The founding team comes from investment banking, quantitative trading, and technology, including JPMorgan, RBC, Tower Research, Google, and Microsoft.

Why now

Most web apps assume a person takes an action and gets a result. An Itoflow research task may run for minutes, call several tools, wait for approval, and resume after the user returns. Its state must remain clear and correct throughout.

Clients also need to compose Itoflow's agent stack inside their own products. The TypeScript SDK needs stable primitives for agents, tools, workflows, and runtime capabilities. Model Context Protocol (MCP) is already part of our stack; we will assess Agent2Agent (A2A) and other standards where they help.

Itoflow has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding and is backed by Balderton Capital. You will help decide how these interactions and developer interfaces work from the start.

The role

We are looking for a Founding Fullstack Engineer to build the main ways users and developers work with Itoflow's agents: the React and TypeScript web app, mobile work in React Native, and the client-facing SDK.

You will design the client-facing SDK for our composable agent stack. It gives clients agent, tool, workflow, and runtime capabilities they can embed, compose, and customise for their own use cases. It is not a library of UI widgets.

You will also help choose desktop targets when the product needs them. As a founding engineer, you will work directly with founders and design; the choices you make will become the team's first product and engineering conventions.

What you will own

  • Build the React and TypeScript product and the service interfaces behind it.
  • Design live-agent patterns for streamed progress, long-running work, tool activity, recovery, and human approval.
  • Develop TypeScript SDK abstractions that let clients compose and customise the agent stack, using MCP, A2A, or other standards where they help.
  • Extend the product to mobile with React Native and help choose desktop targets when needed.
  • Set early standards for app state, APIs, realtime behaviour, testing, and production diagnosis.

What we are looking for

  • Strong TypeScript and React experience shipping products people use.
  • Practical React Native experience for mobile development.
  • Experience with live state, asynchronous work, APIs, or work that continues after a click.
  • Good judgement designing SDKs, public APIs, developer platforms, or open agent protocols.
  • Experience shipping a mobile or desktop app is useful, but not required.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Early-stage stock options

The role

Itoflow needs someone to own compliance and regulatory affairs as we move from product testing toward regulated financial activity.

You will work with product, engineering, counsel, and regulators to decide what we can launch and which controls it needs.

You will define when agents may research or recommend, when a person must decide, and what evidence we retain.

Why this role matters

At Itoflow, compliance changes how the product behaves. It affects promotions, suitability, approvals, execution, and the record behind each decision.

Those choices need to happen before launch, while product and engineering can still shape the workflow.

What you will own

  • Build the compliance framework for a regulated investment business.
  • Set policy across financial promotions, suitability, client categorisation, conflicts, complaints, market abuse, AML/KYC, GDPR, and control evidence.
  • Decide the boundary between research, recommendation, review, approval, and execution.
  • Review product launches and live-trading readiness, including the controls and evidence each launch requires.
  • Manage counsel and regulatory relationships, track regulatory change, and establish the governance we need as the company grows.

What strong work looks like

  • We can explain which activities are in scope, which are not, and what controls apply.
  • Product teams know the compliance constraints before they build.
  • Launch decisions record the policy, risk, controls, and evidence considered.
  • Customer claims, onboarding, approvals, and agent escalation paths match our regulatory position.
  • Advice from counsel and regulators turns into clear product and operating decisions.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in UK financial services compliance, regulatory affairs, risk, legal, or control functions.
  • Practical understanding of regulated investment, wealth, brokerage, advice, or fintech operating models.
  • Ability to translate regulation into product and operating decisions.
  • Strong judgement on customer protection, financial promotions, suitability, execution boundaries, governance, and evidence.
  • Comfort building a framework that is rigorous enough to protect customers and practical enough for an early team.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to chair difficult decisions with product, engineering, commercial, and external stakeholders.

The role

Find a repeatable route to customers who need a better way to research, test, monitor, and review investment strategies.

You will own positioning, acquisition, and activation. At first, the work is hands-on: customer conversations, landing pages, content, partnerships, and funnel experiments.

Once we know what works, you will build the systems and team that can repeat it.

Why this role matters

Itoflow has no established software category. Customers care about the work it helps them do, not the term “agentic investing.”

Your job is to make the product concrete, learn which use cases show the strongest demand, and turn that demand into a channel we can scale.

What you will own

  • Choose the first markets, write a clear message for each one, and decide which channels deserve more investment.
  • Build acquisition through referrals, content, SEO, partnerships, and selective paid tests.
  • Own the path from first visit to an active strategy, live testing, and paid conversion.
  • Run experiments that improve the weakest step in that path and share what we learn with product.
  • Own customer-facing positioning and build the growth team after we prove the first repeatable channels.

What strong work looks like

  • We can name the customer, problem, message, channel, and activation path for each market we pursue.
  • The team knows the weakest funnel step and which experiment is testing it.
  • Customer-facing language explains what Itoflow does without relying on category jargon.
  • Content and partnerships produce qualified customer conversations.
  • What we learn changes onboarding, activation, and the product roadmap.

What we are looking for

  • Experience owning growth, go-to-market, lifecycle, partnerships, content, or acquisition for a startup.
  • The discipline to choose a market rather than pursue every customer at once.
  • Strong positioning skills for a technical product.
  • Comfort with founder-led selling, hands-on experiments, and scalable acquisition systems.
  • A clear grasp of acquisition cost, activation, conversion, retention, and payback.
